I loved the show last night. I thought they did a really good job on the topic of religion. Great songs too. Of course....I cried!

There is Glee on italian TV. It's a nice show, but I think FAME has been only and wonderful show based on singing, dancing, and with a great stories. Very Happy

HEY YSF, the movie was a very good movie ...
but I think the show was one of teh best shows ever.
I was in love with the dance teacher, who was played by Debbie Allen ..
I was so attracted to her when she said this in the signature tune

"You want fame? ... Well, fame costs. And right here is where you start paying. With sweat. "

And I also loved Gene Anthony Ray ... he played a "rebel" student , -
Leroy Johnson.
He worked in Italy in the last years of his life and he died for drugs overdose I think .. many years ago. he had AIDS.
I spent all my afternoons watching this show when I was still at school... sigh....

I have to say that I also loved the original "Fame" movie and watched the TV show religiously. I loved CoCo, Doris and LeRoy. That show was totally a drama...with a little comedy thrown in from time to time. I have watched some of the episodes since and found it sort of depressing...but still good.

Glee, while it shows young people singing and dancing with a little story mixed in, is more of a satire with drama mixed in. They deal with some pretty serious story lines with over the top sarcasm with a little serious drama mixed in. As an adult, I think this show is so much more powerful and entertaining than Fame was. Even though sometimes I need my 14 year old daughter to interpret some of the things they say...LOL!! Head slap

I am actually watching the show right now. I love the fact that each and every person is in search for who they are and when they find it, they are encouraged to be proud of that person.
