Chatbox Tips
Here are a few tips on using the Chatbox. It is pretty much self explanatory. There are two ways to sign on or join the chatbox. One is under the header “Chatbox” just below were it says how many users are chatting, there is [Join the Chat]. When you click there the Chatbox opens on it own page and all you see is the Chatbox. The other way is to click on the “Log In” at the upper right hand corner of the Chatbox. That will keep the Chatbox as it appears, on the Home page.
When you are inactive for a period of time or in one of the forums, it says you are “away.” If you are idol for an extended period of time it logs you out of chat. You will have to log back in.
Here are a list of fun commands that you can type into the message box to let people know what you are doing:
/me - In the beginning of a sentence, this command will be replaced by your username (ex: /me is eating a delicious pizza" will display "Screen name is eating a delicious pizza")
/abs - Send a message explaining why you're absent. You can add a reason that will be displayed in the message and visible by all members connected to the Chatbox
(ex: /abs reason) (ex: /abs is getting a beverage = “Screen name is away- getting a beverage”)
/exit - Disconnect from the Chatbox. You can also give an exact reason that will be visible for all members connected (ex: /exit reason) (ex: /exit is going to bed = Screen name is going to bed)
Just a reminder; What you say will remain in the Chatbox until a Moderator clears it. If no Moderator is on the site at the time, your conversation may remain there several hours and be visible to anyone who logs into the Chatbox.. If you want to discuss anything of a private nature, I would suggest that you either PM each other or go to an off site location to chat in private.
